The Document Window

When you open a document in the Documents List, it appears in a Document Window where you and the person you are meeting with take turns controlling how it is viewed and annotated. The tool bar along the top of the Document Window includes a Pointer, a Pencil, an Eraser, a Line tool, an Oval tool, a Rectangle tool, an Alpha Text tool and a Note tool. You can enter extensive text annotations using the Note tool and then cut and paste the contents back into the original document during or after the meeting. After the meeting, both you and the person you are meeting with automatically retain a soft copy of the annotated documents which can later be printed, reviewed off-line, or sent to colleagues who were unable to attend the meeting.

Document Layers

Face to Face allows you to organize your comments on a document into independent Document Layers. A Document Layer is akin to placing a transparency on top of the original document. When you draw or make any other change to a particular layer, it doesn't affect the contents of any other layer. For example, with Layers, you can erase comments you've made to a document while leaving the original image intact. Document Layers can be used to separate comments made by different individuals, or comments made on different meeting dates, or by any other means you find helpful. You can also specify a different editing color for each layer. This helps you to keep track of who made what changes or suggestions.
